Who we are

Whereabouts Inc. (“Whereabouts,” “we,” “us”) operates the Whereabouts platform — a tool for cultural hosts to build community and manage intimate events. By using our website, app, or services, you agree to these terms.

Using Whereabouts

• You must be 18 or older to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes and in ways consistent with its intended use — organizing and attending cultural events.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or misuse the platform.

Hosts

• Hosts are independent operators. Whereabouts provides infrastructure; we are not a co-organizer, employer, or partner of any host.
• Hosts are responsible for the events they create, including accuracy of event details, compliance with local regulations, and the experience of their guests.
• By listing an event on Whereabouts, hosts grant us a limited license to display event information on the platform.

Guests

• RSVPs and ticket purchases are subject to the refund and cancellation policy set by each individual host.
• Whereabouts is not responsible for event cancellations, changes, or the conduct of hosts or other guests.

Payments

• Payment processing is handled by Stripe. By making a purchase through Whereabouts, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.
• Whereabouts may charge platform or service fees, which will be disclosed at checkout.

Text messaging (SMS)

• By providing your phone number and agreeing to receive text messages, you consent to receive transactional SMS from Whereabouts, including one-time login codes, event notifications, RSVP confirmations, and event reminders.
• Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
• Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for assistance, or email privacy@whereabouts.us.
• We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
• We do not share your phone number or SMS consent with third parties for marketing purposes.

Intellectual property

• The Whereabouts name, wordmark, and platform design are our property. Don't use them without permission.
• Content you post (event descriptions, photos, profiles) remains yours. By posting it, you grant us a limited license to display it within the platform.

Disclaimers

• The platform is provided “as is.” We make no guarantees about uptime, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Whereabouts.
• Our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. We'll let you know about material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.
